Don McLean pleads not guilty to domestic violence charges

On February 8, NBC News reported that singer and songwriter Don McLean has pleaded not guilty to a domestic violence charge in connection with his arrest back in January. He was taken into custody by authorities from the Camden Police Department after a 911 call was placed from his house in Camden, Maine.

His wife, Patrisha McLean, apparently filed a handwritten request for protection after the “American Pie” singer’s arrest. According to the 70-year-old artist’s lawyer, Walter McKee, McLean and his wife have “agreed to move forward” and the protection order has since been dismissed.

McLean’s next court date is set for February 22, but McKee stated that the singer will not attend since he has already entered a plea, saying that no significant event will take place during that court session.
