Myra Din is a federal litigator and former federal prosecutor with over a decade of experience handling complex civil and criminal matters in federal court. She has particular expertise in federal criminal law and labor and employment litigation and has also handled wage-and-hour class actions and consumer protection matters. Her practice is informed by substantial courtroom experience and a deep familiarity with federal procedure developed through service at the U.S. Department of Justice, leading litigation firms, and multiple federal clerkships.
Ms. Din previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Michigan, where she prosecuted a broad range of federal criminal matters, including cases involving white-collar fraud, violent crime, and complex conspiracies. In her time as an AUSA, she tried several federal jury trials to verdict, led investigations from inception through sentencing, and handled all aspects of federal criminal litigation, including motion practice, evidentiary hearings, and appeals.
Ms. Din’s experience is closely tied to the federal courts of New York, where she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nelson Román of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Honorable Ramon E. Reyes Jr. of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She also clerked for the Honorable Gregory A. Phillips of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. In these roles, she worked extensively on complex civil and criminal matters, including dispositive motions, evidentiary proceedings, and appellate review, gaining insight into how federal judges evaluate high-stakes litigation.
Ms. Din has substantial experience in labor and employment law, grounded in both academic training and practice. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and further concentrated in labor and employment law at Brooklyn Law School, where she was a senior editor of the law review, a national moot court competitor, and received numerous academic honors. She also studied international labor and employment law at the University of Warwick. In practice, she has litigated a wide range of employment matters, including claims under Title VII, Title IX, the ADA, the FLSA, the FMLA, and analogous state and local laws, as well as wage-and-hour class and collective actions and consumer protection class litigation.
At Proskauer Rose LLP, Ms. Din was part of a leading labor and employment group, where she litigated employment and wage-and-hour matters and conducted sensitive internal investigations. She later practiced at Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell LLP, where her work included both plaintiff-side and defense-side employment matters, as well as complex commercial litigation. There, she handled complex commercial and international matters, including successfully litigating a matter under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.
