Westchester teen arrested over murder

Berinzon Moronta, 16, was arrested for murder on Saturday, October 10 after allegedly stabbing a Sleepy Hollow teen at a village park. Sleepy Hollow Police Chief Gregory Camp said at a press conference that they arrested Moronta at around 6:15 a.m., about seven hours after the stabbing when they tracked him down in Yonkers.

According to Police Sergeant Richard D’Alessandro, the officers were called to the scene at around 11 p.m. They found the 17-year-old victim suffering from several stab wounds.

Reports said that a disagreement between the two teenagers led to the stabbing. The victim was pronounced dead after he was brought to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla by a Sleepy Hollow Ambulance.

Moronta is currently facing a second-degree murder charge.
