ESPN reported on November 19 that the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings goaltender prospect, 22-year-old Patrik Bartosak, was arrested on November 16 in Manchester, New Hampshire on misdemeanor domestic violence-related charges and a felony assault charge when he allegedly tried to strangle his girlfriend inside an apartment.
Bartosak waived arraignment the next day and is scheduled to attend a hearing on December 16 regarding his 11 misdemeanor charges that include stalking, criminal threatening, and simple assault. He is currently free on a $10,000 bond.
The LA Kings stated that they have suspended the 22-year-old Bartosak after his arrest. They stated that the club is dealing with the matter seriously and that they are disappointed over the case since they have made attempts to promote awareness and prevent domestic violence among their players. The Kings will continue to monitor the legal proceedings.
