27-year-old charged with murder in Westchester

Last month, Yonkers resident Luis Blanco’s body was found stabbed and shot in Ossining, New York. His body was discovered by a jogger on the morning of August 24. The body was not identified until recently.

Joaquin Recinos-Garcia was charged with second-degree murder. He owed Blanco a total of $1300, according to Ossining Detective Lt. Jeffrey Giorgio. He was connected to the murder when his name was mentioned in one of the police interviews. A surveillance video retrieved in Yonkers also led to Recinos-Garcia.

Blanco’s body was just recently identified after DNA testing. Reports said that the man may have been dead for four days when his body was found.

The suspect is being held without bail at Westchester County Jail and is set to appear in court this Tuesday.
