On June 21, 2019, Netflix released the second season of their true crime series entitled, “The Confession Tapes”. Season 2, Episode 3: “Deep Down” features the case of Angelika Graswald. This brilliant documentary created by Kelly Loudenberg, features Mr. Portale detailing the police malfeasance and misconduct in their investigation of our client for allegedly murdering her fiance in 2015 in a kayak in the Hudson River, including their eleven (11) hour attempt to coerce Ms. Graswald into a false confession.

Dateline features the trial of former US President Clinton’s neighbor, Carlos Perez Olivo who was prosecuted for shooting his wife in the back of the head on a “Long, Dark Stretch of Road” in order to collect the life insurance proceeds. Westchester Criminal Defense Attorney Richard Portale explains to NBC Dateline correspondent Dennis Murphy how the defense challenged the forensic evidence against Perez Olivo, himself a prominent homicide defense attorney.
