Prior to joining Portale Randazzo, Mr. Calvey started his legal career in 2013 as an Assistant District Attorney for the Honorable Robert T. Johnson at the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure, he rose through the ranks from the Criminal Court Bureau to the Felony Trial Bureau, where he prosecuted cases involving attempted murder, narcotics, gang assault, robbery, and gun possession, presenting over one hundred felony cases to grand juries and conducting over ten bench and jury trials to verdict as both the lead prosecutor and second chair.

Following his time as a prosecutor, Mr. Calvey practiced civil litigation, working for a large insurance defense firm based in New York City and a national insurance defense firm’s Westchester County office, defending complex litigation matters from pre-suit through trial involving professional responsibility, products liability, labor and employment, negligent security, and premises liability. While defending these cases, he obtained favorable results, voluntary discontinuances, and dismissals on behalf of his clients.

Mr. Calvey attended Binghamton University as an undergraduate, and soon after earned his juris doctorate from Elizabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. In addition to working for Portale Randazzo, he has been
serving as a coach for law school students at the Elizabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University since 2017. When he is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling with his wife, and watching football, basketball, and hockey.
