Multi-agency narcotics investigation led to several arrests

A seven-month long multi-jurisdictional investigation by different enforcement agencies into street level narcotics trafficking has led to the arrest of 50 individuals in the City of New Rochelle and 33 in the City of White Plains. Arrest warrants are also pending for 20 more individuals, New Rochelle Patch reported on Wednesday, December 3.

The operation, code named “City Sweeper 2,” aims to identify and indict individuals involved in the sales of controlled substances, which include mainly crack-cocaine. Heroin, hydrocodone, morphine, fentanyl and PCP were also sold.

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said indicted individuals with previous felony convictions might face up to 12 years in prison, while those without prior felony charges may face a maximum of 9 years in jail.
